Stephanie Welch is the Workers’ Rights Director at NMCLP where she leads impact litigation and policy advocacy to uphold and strengthen the laws protecting workers. For nearly 20 years she has represented low-wage workers, including serving as a supervising attorney at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid in Weslaco and El Paso, Texas. In her previous role she represented farmworkers in federal litigation and advocated for the civil rights of border residents. After moving to New Mexico, she worked with coalition partners to support the passage of the state’s minimum wage increase in 2019 and the paid sick leave law in 2021.
