TANF gives parents and children much needed emergency support to help stabilize and improve their futures. Despite flexibility in the law, New Mexico implements one of the most punitive TANF programs in the country.
Transform Education NM
Transform Education NM is a coalition of education, tribal, and community leaders advancing a new vision for our public education system. It advocates for a sufficient and equitable education system that honors and responds to the cultures, languages and heritages of our diverse student populations.
The Center has worked with the coalition to develop a platform for action to transform the education system. We provide policy support to the coalition and actively engage in community outreach with tribal communities, educators, students, school board associations, and other members of the public.
New Mexico Together for Healthcare
Good quality healthcare should be affordable and easy to access, but our healthcare system today is costly and fragmented and leaves out too many of us. We believe everyone has the right to healthcare and that our families can build power to make our voices heard.
We are part of a community-led coalition, NM Together for Healthcare, working to bring down healthcare costs and expand coverage in New Mexico. Learn more about the coalition’s efforts at www.nmtogether4health.org.
