Know Your Rights: Federal Changes to SNAP Food Assistance

In July 2025, President Trump signed House Resolution 1 into law, making major changes to who qualifies for the Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). These changes require more adults to meet work requirements and limit access to SNAP for immigrants. The changes start when people apply or renew in 2026.

We encourage everyone to look closely at the changes. There are many exemptions to the new work requirements and immigration statuses that still do qualify for SNAP.

Below are all of the resources we have available to help folks understand these changes, and how to meet the new work requirements.
