Healthcare Policy Advocate
505-302-2111
Shanae Satriana is the Healthcare Policy Advocate at NMCLP, where she works to advance innovative changes to the healthcare system for children and families. Before joining the Center, she spent five years in public education focusing on mental health, social-emotional support, and community engagement at an alternative high school. In that role, she launched a weekend backpack food program that served more than 200 students each week and successfully advocated for gender-neutral facilities with showers and laundry to support students experiencing homelessness. At NMCLP, her advocacy has included ensuring access to the Brain Injury Services Fund for clients regardless of immigration status and reforming San Juan County’s Health Care Assistance Program to remove unnecessary barriers for eligible individuals. Both efforts expanded access to care for marginalized communities and advanced health equity across New Mexico.
