Sireesha Manne became the Executive Director of NMCLP in 2018 to lead the organization’s overall strategy. She joined the Center in 2008 as a healthcare attorney, advancing successful advocacy and legislative campaigns with community leaders to make healthcare more affordable and accessible– including to expand Medicaid in New Mexico, prevent cuts to programs for uninsured children and families, and address barriers for immigrant communities. Sireesha is committed to building community partnerships and co-led the development of the NM Together for Healthcare collaborative and Transform Education NM to fight for well-resourced and equitable schools. Prior to joining the Center, she provided litigation support at civil rights law firms, held a legal fellowship with the ACLU of North Carolina, worked as a clinical health specialist at Planned Parenthood NM, and managed communications for a center that supported youth organizing. She has served as board chair for Bold Futures in Albuquerque (formerly Young Women United) and as vice chair of the board for the Highlander Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
