Yvonne Diaz

Farmworker Advocate
505-302-3111

Yvonne is a native El Pasoan with an appreciation for the culture and tradition of the people of New Mexico. She is the Founding Farmer at De Colores Farms & Foods, a small-scale diversified farm based out of Anthony & Berino, NM. De Colores’ mission is to conscientiously produce food while providing a space for beginning farmers and the community to learn about growing food and connecting with the local food system. The commercialization of the global food system and the dreadful working conditions of the agricultural industry have peaked Yvonne’s interest in working for farm workers’ rights. Her focus at the Center on Law & Poverty is to serve the efforts of the New Mexico Coalition of Agricultural Workers and Advocates (CAWA) which includes identifying major issues affecting farmworkers, advance campaigns to protect their rights and improve their economic opportunities.
